WHEAT MST organises a number of events. Guest speakers from various service providers including former refugees and migrants who became role models inspire new groups of mentors and mentees by sharing their experiences.
Plaistow North presented certificates to graduates
On 1st July 2013, Cllr Joy Laguda MBE from Plaistow North presented certificates to the graduates of the Event Planning Course (Batch One) funded by Awards for All, Big Lottery. After awarding the certificates Cllr Joy gave inspirational speech. The event was graced with performances by rappers Kemba and Paradise; falk tales by Yishibah and poem reading by her daughter and loads of speeches!
Certificate and Prize Awards – 29th June 2013
On 29th June 2013, the Right Honourable Steven Timms, MP for East Ham handed over certificates and prizes to our mentors, mentees and volunteers. After awarding the certificates he gave a brief speech in which he commended the contribution of WHEAT MST for the employment rise in the London Borough of Newham. A dance performance from Litun Mohanty and DJ from Margaret Baxrer (Margo) were among the different shows along with various speeches from mentors, mentees, trustees and staff.
Kimba Music Performance
Kimba is back! this was the 2nd event organised by the 2nd batch of the event planning course participants. The first event was organised by batch one. Kimba performed brilliantly on both occasions. Our special guest Rtd Supt Leroy Logan former police officer and Dr Hailu Hagos, Executive Director of WHEAT MST handed certificates to course participants. A BIG THANK YOU to Kwaku and Sr Serwah for delivering the course and all participants who demonstrated their skills and special talents by organising the two events.
