Dr. Hailu Hagos (PhD, MSc, BA) – Executive Director
Dr. Hailu formerly managed a Gold Star project of the Renewal RAMP Mentoring Service. Before he came to the United Kingdom in September 1988 on a postgraduate scholarship programme he worked as a tutor, schoolteacher, management trainer and training coordinator for a total of 9 years of which the last 5 years were with the Ethiopian Management Institute. After receiving his Masters and PhD degrees in Human Resources Development and Education respectively from the University of Manchester he worked for several organisations namely the Refugee Council, Birkbeck College – University of London, Workforce Academy, Time Bank and Haringey Refugee Consortium in research & development projects as well as setting up mentoring schemes.
Amelia Hallett
Amelia holds a BA in Ancient and Medieval History from the University of Birmingham and a MSc in History of Art from the University of Edinburgh. She has gained prestigious internships both within the U.K. and Internationally at Lund University, Magdalen College Oxford, The Royal Scottish Academy of Art and Architecture and the Barber Institute of Fine Arts. Amelia has experience across the public and private arts sectors and comes to the charity sector building upon previous fundraising experience. She is excited to marry her experience within the arts sector with WHEAT.
Romha Berhane
Romha holds a BA in Ancient and Medieval History from the University of Birmingham. She currently works in Operations, and has had experience working on a variety of complex projects. Romha has volunteered and raised funds for numerous charities over the years, and is extremely excited to be a part of Wheat’s journey.
Mebrahtu A
Mebrahtu Holds BSc in Computer Engineering. He Currently works as Web Developer and Content Manager for web content management systems. Mebrahtu has been volunteering in different charities including British Red Cross and is also part of the Wheat Mentor support’s journey.
Teum Mezgebo
Teum holds a BSc in Combined Studies (Computing and Mathematics), and post-graduate certificate in Information Security. He has over 21 years of experience in supporting and coaching learners to improve their IT skills, Mathematics, research and referencing skills to progress in their academic careers. He is an eLearning/web developer and passionate Mathematics guru.
In 2009, he was nominated for “STAR Awards” which is run by the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) in the UK annually to recognise and reward the unsung heroes of the Further Education sector. He was awarded “Highly Commended” for the educational search engine/directory he developed. He is aslo a keen gardener, and produces organic vegetables and fruit.
